Some more stuff

Ok, some more of my crap. I am really not as good at this as I should be (the whole updating thing)...

That should tide me over for a while. I don't think any of these are repeats...

I have lots of artwork I just haven't scanned. Sadly.

Here's some more MsPaintings to tide us all over:

Some MsPainting: The Offbeat Bridezilla

I did this adorable thing while waiting for a conference call to start. I've named her, with the help of some online friends: Gertie Pickles.

She is now my alter-ego in the world of getting married. Because sometimes Bridezilla's are adorable.

Not A Dirty Limmerick

But a painting!

A while back I was pondering why I didn't paint the way I drew, so today I dug out a canvas and gave it a shot.

I actually wasn't sure of what to paint, but because I love to draw faces more than anything else, I decided to go with that. I just started to draw a face, and somehow Frodo came to the surface. So be it, I decided. Chaos!! :D

And a close up:

So I thought about it, and at this step in a drawing, I would put down my sharpie/ink lines before coloring. But if I wanted the black lines to look right in a painting I'd have to do it a bit backwards. So I put in blocks of colors first - the background, cloak and hair:

Then it was on to the detailed work - the face and leaf pendant. I normally don't like painting faces in acrylic, because I always feel like I can't get the details right/how I like them. But I reminded myself that I was trying something new and tried doing it like I do with my crayons - in layers with room for mistakes. And I like how it came out:

A close up shot of the leaf pendant:

And here it is all finished up and pretty like; I rather like it and think I'll do a series:

Scanner Problems

My Scanner is broken at the moment, so it will be a bit before I can upload more/new work. In the meantime I might dig through older digital work. Or post dirty limmericks.

I miss my blue pencil

A few more pieces and then I'll update again next week some time with things I still need to scan.

A sketch of Ted Kord (The Blue Beetle). I really liked Ted, as a character. This little project then led to...

A full-body shot, it reminded me of the super-posed photos they sometimes take at studios.

I like using Sharpies

When I first was going to type this up, I mis-spelled it as Sharpee. The mental image of using wrinkly little dogs to draw was very amusing. And messy.

Below are some examples of Sharpie'd drawings. (Digital colors)

This is a self portrait from a few years ago - you're always much better looking as a cartoon, I find. Man, check out the awesome hair I gave me.

She-Hulk remains my 2nd favorite comic book character, and I love doodling her in my work notes.

An updated self-portrait-caricature. Much more accurate and still way cuter than real life will ever be. Ah well.

Teela from He-Man, an old school hottie if I do say so. Check out her Ram-Horned lovely lady lumps there.
